Financial Community Memorandum: Experts Needed!

Instituting best practices in Oracle ERP Cloud to support process excellence, better operational performance and innovation. 

The Financial Information System (FIS) project is part of the Enterprise Systems Renewal (ESR) program that will transform and streamline core business and administrative processes. UC San Diego has selected Oracle ERP Cloud as the enterprise software solution that will replace our – Campus, Foundation, and Health – outdated financial systems with new, more flexible technology and enable integration of data across systems. The scheduled launch date is July 2020.

Over the next twelve (12) months the FIS core team will work with design leads to refinebusiness processes, focusing on lean business principles. The leads will collaborate with business area subject matter experts to simplify and standardize the financial environment with the goal of having common, best-practice process solutions.

A key to successful implementation is identifying UC San Diego staff expertise and directing their efforts to this project. For the next several months you will be asked to dedicate a few of your key staff and their time to implementation, design, testing, and training. By working closely together, we will ensure our financial system can scale to support our growing university.
