UCPath Deployed at UC San Diego
We are excited to announce that on June 1, UC San Diego and UC San Francisco rounded out the 10 UC campuses, five medical centers and four other entities that have now implemented UCPath, the new systemwide human resources, benefits and payroll system. With this deployment, 230,000 employees are using the system and being served by the UCPath Center. When Lawrence Berkeley National Lab deploys in August, all locations will be live.
Our excitement extends beyond the deployment of UCPath to include the launch of UCPath Support. This platform allows us to provide fully-integrated customer support across the areas of HR, Academic Personnel, and Payroll. Behind this platform is the Rapid Response Center (RRC) team, comprised of UCPath experts from UC San Diego and University of California Office of the President. This team is ready to answer employee questions, provide guidance and support to transactors, deal with missing or incorrect pay, and provide any other assistance employees may need. To get assistance, you simply submit a ticket to UCPath Support, open a live chat, or call the RRC team directly. Detailed support contact information is available on the “Need Help” page of the UCPath website.
In preparation for the UCPath launch, more than 1,200 HR and funding transactors completed training designed by UC San Diego. The training is supplemented with close to 100 step-by-step job aids and quick references, also created by our training team to integrate UCPath rules with UC San Diego business processes. Through the month of June, the training team is offering live transactor support via twice-daily special topic sessions, individual one-on-one “how to” appointments with trainers, and targeted Zoom Q&A sessions for VC areas and special populations. As of June 9, total attendance combined at these sessions topped 1,900.
On June 1, the RRC team went into action, assisting employees logging in for the first time, as well as transactors completing a variety of HR and funding transactions in UCPath. The first week of operation, 775 cases were submitted, of which 75% were resolved. The RRC team’s success can be attributed to the collective knowledge and expertise of its 85 staff members from both campus and UC San Diego Health.
In support of the UCPath launch, a new website was designed, aimed at providing all employees the information they should know to get ready for UCPath. It also provides transactors links to online training, job aids and quick references, as well as system and local updates. In the week before go-live, this website was visited by more than 9,500 users.
