A New Chapter for Report Remediation

You may have already heard in our WI25 Quarterly Update video, but just in case you didn’t, we are sharing here: the work in the Report Remediation Project has moved in with Continuity Planning. That’s right—report remediation has a new home, and we are here to spread the word!

The Need for a Change

Report remediation got the keys to their new home (Continuity Planning)  in December 2024, after careful consideration by project team members, key stakeholders and project leadership. While the Report Remediation Project team was identifying reports that required remediation, they discovered significant overlap and interconnectedness with the remediation of applications and integrations, which is being overseen under the purview of Continuity Planning. Learn more about the change in this fact sheet

Your Role in Remediation

Your involvement in the report remediation efforts have not changed! You are still a loyal neighbor on this cul-de-sac, and we are inviting you to the block party of self-remediation.

  • Once TSS goes live, the Data Warehouse will no longer receive new student information. As a result, reports and applications should be remediated using the Student Activity Hub (SAH). SAH developers should get started on their remediation efforts immediately to ensure continuity. For more information about SAH access and support, review the SAH page on Blink
  • Each unit/department is responsible for managing the remediation of their own reports. If you haven’t already, we encourage all units to review the master inventory and submit any new requests as soon as possible. Detailed instructions regarding submitting reports to the master inventory are available on the Continuity Planning website.
  • If you or your team needs more information or support with any of this, please contact your IT Lead. If you have questions about who your IT Lead is, contact esr-continuity@ucsd.edu.

How to Stay in the Loop

The SIS Project team will no longer be providing updates on report remediation as a separate project within the SIS Project portfolio, but will be sharing updates as part of the ongoing communications for the TSS Project. Additionally, the SIS Project organizational change management (OCM) team will serve in an advisory capacity to the Continuity Planning team as they guide units to incorporate OCM into their remediation plans. Any questions or concerns about remediation should be directed to esr-continuity@ucsd.edu.

The Road Ahead

Student data-related reports and applications are vital to campus operations, and ensuring their continuity during the transition from our legacy system (ISIS) to TSS is our top priority. The success of remediation depends on all units being proactive in managing their own reports. By preparing in advance and utilizing available resources, we can ensure that all student-related reports are fully aligned with the new TSS before launch. Now is the time to take action and make this transition a success—let’s move forward together!
