Late Adds/Changes/Drops in TEA is Live

We are pleased to announce that late adds/changes/drops are now available in the Triton Enrollment Authorization (TEA) application in TSS.

What this means for students:

  • Late Adds: As is the expected process, students have the ability to request late adds to classes through week 10. Once approved in TEA, students will still need to book themselves in the course in TSS.
  • Changes & Drops:
    • Graduate students and scholar-athletes: Need to submit drop and change (units and grading options) requests through TEA for approval for any booking changes. Once approved in TEA, changes will be processed automatically and no further action is needed from the student.
    • All other students: Do not need to submit a TEA request — they can drop courses and change units/grading options directly through TSS booking through the campus deadlines.
    • Special Studies course: Undergraduate students who want to change the units on a Special Studies course should submit a new add request in TEA for the new requested units. Then they can change the units through View All Courses on the TSS homepage.
    • Important! Students are not permitted to drop all courses, as this requires a Withdrawal. (UG Withdraw Guidance | GR Withdraw Guidance)
  • Please refer to the Booking and Registration Calendar for key deadlines.

What this means for staff and faculty:

  • Required Approvals: Per Senate guidance for Fall 2026, instructor and department approval are required for all late add requests. Additional discussions are occurring to determine if this will continue in future terms.
    • As a reminder, email notifications are not available for TEA requests; instructors and staff must log-in to TSS and check their notifications to monitor TEA requests. If you have a pending TEA request, you will see an alert in the bell icon in the top right corner.
  • Settings from EASy have been copied over to TEA, such as which units do not accept late add requests.
  • Late Add is an available TEA batch authorization override.
