TSS Schedule of Classes Updates and Known Issues
As we continue through the Fall 2026 booking period, we wanted to provide an update on the Schedule of Classes (SOC) in the new Triton Student System (TSS), share information about known issues and clarify the process for addressing SOC-related concerns.
Current Status
The SOC is available for student planning and booking activities, and most course information is now listed in the SOC as expected. However, there are still some known issues the team is working to resolve. Current SOC-related issues are tracked in the TSS: Current Limitations and Known Issues document, which is updated daily.
Since our last update, the Registrar’s Scheduling team has continued to resolve support tickets and make corrections, including issues related to course fees and course text. While significant progress has been made, some minor issues remain under review.
Enrollment Restrictions and Course Approval Updates
We have received many questions and support tickets related to enrollment restrictions displayed in the SOC, including prerequisites, co-requisites, duplicate credit courses, R-version of prerequisite courses and other restrictions.
Enrollment restrictions displayed in the SOC reflect the official course record as approved for Fall 2026, which may originate from historical ISIS data (approved via paper or e-Course approvals) or CourseLeaf approvals. If a restriction appears incorrect, please review the approved course record that is effective for Fall 2026 before submitting a support ticket. If the approved course record itself requires modification, the change must be completed through the course approval process rather than through a SOC correction in TSS.
Please also note that some approved changes may not yet be reflected in TSS due to the current course approval processing backlog. Departments and scheduling staff should have received separate communications regarding this backlog and steps being taken to address it. If a restriction appears incorrect and is associated with a pending course approval, it may already be awaiting processing.
Before submitting a support ticket, please:
- Review the course information in CourseLeaf.
- Confirm whether the enrollment restriction is accurate in the course approval record.
- Check the status of any pending course approvals in CourseLeaf.
- Follow your unit’s established course approval process if updates are needed.
Missing Instructors
If an instructor is not listed in the SOC, there are several possible causes:
- The course may not have an instructor assigned in the Instructional Scheduling Assistant (ISA),
- An instructor update in ISA may not yet have been submitted to TSS, or
- The assigned instructor may not currently be authorized to be listed as an instructor in TSS.
Please note: Instructor authorization status in ISA is determined by TSS. If an instructor is shown as unauthorized in ISA, it is because TSS does not currently recognize them as eligible to teach the course, typically because a fully approved UCPath teaching appointment for the applicable term is not yet in place.
Departments should continue to use established processes for managing instructor assignments in ISA. If a department has concerns about an instructor's authorization status and the instructor has a fully approved teaching appointment in UCPath, please contact registrar-scheduling@ucsd.edu and include the instructor's name and UCPath ID.
Students who inquire about courses with no instructor listed in the SOC will be referred to the department offering the course.
Reporting Issues
If, after completing the steps above, you believe information in the SOC is incorrect in TSS, please submit a support ticket and include the course, section and a detailed description of the issue. Screenshots are also very helpful and can speed issue review and resolution. Providing this information will help teams determine whether the issue originates in the SOC, CourseLeaf or another upstream system and ensure it is routed appropriately.
We appreciate your patience as teams continue to address remaining issues impacting Fall 2026 booking.
