The Project

The Student Information System (SIS) project will provide a comprehensive, modern solution for UC San Diego’s business needs in the following areas:

  • Course and class scheduling
  • Enrollment and registration services
  • Academic records
  • Curriculum management
  • Student finances
  • Financial aid and scholarships

A new SIS will be used for all student information and serve undergraduates, graduates, the School of Medicine, other professional schools, and the Division of Extended Studies.

SIS Ecosystem: The SIS Project and Its Support Work

The SIS Project team is responsible for overseeing the work of more than just the SIS Project; the team is also responsible for the oversight of other key projects with connections to the student experience and existing student-related systems. We refer to all of the work happening for and in support of the SIS Project as the “SIS Ecosystem.” Learn more about what’s happening in our ecosystem.

Mapping for the Future: Being the Business Process Lead

As a key member of the SIS Project core team, the Business Process Lead oversees current state process mapping, as well as future state process re-engineering and design, work which serves as the foundation upon which the future of the project is built.
