Prepare for Launch in Summer 2026: Triton Student System (TSS)
The highly anticipated Triton Student System (TSS) will go live for students in Summer 2026. Staff will gain access earlier, starting from December 2025, to prepare for student registration and Fall 2026 schedule building.
This launch marks one of the most significant technology transformations at UC San Diego in decades. TSS will replace the long-standing Integrated Student Information System (ISIS) with a modern platform designed to better support students, faculty and staff.
Going Live! In 3… 2… 1…
TSS will introduce many changes to how students, faculty and staff complete their daily work.
- Faculty and Staff: System access for those who work directly with student information will be granted in phases aligned with the major milestones of the project. Some processes will begin shifting as early as December 2025.
- Continuing students will be the first students to use TSS when the Fall 2026 schedule of classes is released and enrollment opens in mid-July 2026, a change from our normal schedule as continuing students normally enroll in May. This delay supports a smooth transition to the new TSS while applications are either phased out or transitioned to TSS (see List of Impacted Applications for more information).
- New and transfer students will register in August 2026, on a timeline similar to previous years.
- Students that require visas and/or university housing will receive their Single-Sign On (SSO) and access to other TSS features prior to the release of the schedules of classes and enrollment to facilitate administrative processes.
- ISIS Retirement: ISIS will remain functional through Summer 2026 but will move to read-only in September 2026, once Summer 2026 data is migrated into TSS, and will be fully decommissioned in December 2026.
From July-December 2026 the project will be in hypercare, where the project team will provide extra support to ensure all business and campus processes function smoothly. Expect regular communications, dedicated resources after the initial launch and continuous resolution to issues that may arise (see Future Project Work below).
What is Going on Now?
The project team has completed the design phase for most major processes and is actively building and testing the system. User acceptance testing (UAT) is underway, with issues addressed as they arise.
A major focus at this stage is cutover planning, or determining how systems currently connected to ISIS will transition or integrate with TSS. This work spans the Main Campus, the Division of Extended Studies and professional schools.
To support this change, the team has developed a resource called “Triton Student System (TSS): Impact on Applications You Use”. It outlines which applications may be impacted and which will remain the same. (This list is not exhaustive, please check with your departmental IT lead if you have questions about your area.)
Future Project Work
As the project moves into the hypercare and stabilization period, faculty and staff can expect:
- Ongoing monitoring and resolution of issues
- Regular communications about known issues, fixes and updates
- Office hours where staff can drop in for assistance in real-time
- Training resources available for users
This multi-faceted approach ensures the UC San Diego community is supported while adjusting to the new Triton Student System (TSS).
