SIS Project: What You Should Know (Dec 2022)

Key Project Milestones and Progress

Here's a quick summary of what's happened on the SIS project since last month. If you have questions or would like more information about any of the following projects, please reach out to us at esr-student@ucsd.edu

Core Student Information System (SIS) Replacement

  • Project core team continued to plan for and identify stakeholders to attend Conference Room Pilot (CRP) sessions where vendors who responded to our Request for Proposal (RFP) will show us how their software handles real-world UC San Diego scenarios

Financial Aid System Replacement

  • Oracle Student Financial Planning (SFP) implementation team continued design sessions with guide on the side, Sierra-Cedar
  • SFP Steering Committee made key project decisions, including:
    • We will continue to use CampusLogic alongside SFP
    • We will have a single instance of SFP shared by both Campus and Health Sciences
  • Graduate Financial Support Unit team members and stakeholders continued design sessions for the their updated Financial Support Request Tool (FSRT)

Curriculum Management System Implementation

  • Project team and stakeholders participated in an orientation for the upcoming CRP sessions, which will be held during the weeks of December 5th and December 12th

Upcoming Opportunities for Engagement

Want to learn more about any of the work happening for the SIS Project? We will have the following town halls upcoming in the New Year.

  • Core SIS Project Roadshow (date TBD in Winter Quarter)
  • Financial Aid Project Roadshow (date TBD in Winter Quarter)

The project’s change team will also be meeting with the following groups in the upcoming months.

  • Academic Information Technology Advisory Group (AITAG) on January 9, 2023
  • Undergraduate Academic Advising Council (UAAC) on March 7, 2023
