SIS Project: What You Should Know (April 2025)
Key Project Milestones and Progress
Here's a quick summary of what's happened on the SIS Project this past month. You can watch the two-minute video summary or review the bullets below. If you have questions or would like more information about any of the following projects, please reach out to us at esr-student@ucsd.edu.
Triton Student System (TSS)
Implementing a new student information system (TSS) to replace our current system (ISIS) and bring together main campus and Extended Studies on to the same system
- Completed design validation with subject matter experts (SMEs) for Process Group 4, the last of the four groups of processes being designed. Click here to see the process design workshop schedule.
- Completed messaging regarding the integration of Report Remediation into the TSS Continuity Planning efforts.
Continuity Planning for TSS
Remediate reports, applications and integrations to ensure business continuity during the implementation of the new TSS
- Continued preparations for the next phase of end-user testing on remediated QueryLink reports.
- Continued discussions with IT Services and distributed IT units regarding application and report remediation.
- Continued work on rebuilding the technical foundation of the Student Activity Hub (SAH) and how student data will connect and flow between it and TSS.
Financial Support Payments Tool (FSPT)
Improving graduate student funding processing by building a new tool (FSPT) to replace the current Financial Support Request Tool (FSRT)
- Continued work on development for Stipends Module Release features, including:
- Automated processing of billing data by connecting Accounts Receivable to Oracle Financial Cloud (OFC) using software integrations
- Notifications system
- Auditing capabilities
- Academic eligibility retroactive updates
- Addressed bugs identified in testing.
- Planned Stipends Module Release engagements and communications.
CourseLeaf
Introducing the CourseLeaf curriculum system (CIM) to UC San Diego to support and streamline the curriculum process, from planning to implementation to assessment
- Continued functional testing on the course approval form.
- Continued to build the Courseleaf to ISIS integration for interim use.
- Continued to build the Courseleaf to new SIS (TSS) integration.
- Began cutover (transition) planning for the course approval form.
Note: CourseLeaf does not handle course content, which will continue to be managed through the learning management system (LMS), Canvas.
uAchieve Transfer Articulation (UTA)
Implementing transfer articulations, predefined and one-off, within the existing uAchieve system
- Continued testing transfer articulation rules using self-reported transfer courses from the UC Review Tool into uAchieve.
- Continued programming additional institutions to expand the uAchieve Transfer Articulation platform.
