SIS Project: What You Should Know (November 2025)

Key Project Milestones and Progress

Here's a quick summary of what's happened on the SIS Project since October’s newsletter. You can watch the two-minute video summary or review the bullets below. Triton Student System (TSS)

We Implementing a new student information system (TSS) to replace our current system (ISIS) and bring together main campus and Extended Studies on the same system

  • Continued to configure, customize and build TSS applications; additional development items continue to be built into TSS to enhance user experience
  • The project team is immersed in ongoing onsite user acceptance testing (UAT) sessions, testing the system and resolving bugs and issues
  • Cutover planning session held with stakeholders to review the plan and major milestones
  • Continued planning and developing assets for sharing with audiences regarding workshops, SME listening feedback, demonstrations, and other key communications and engagements
  • Held four of five scheduling listening sessions with SMEs/project teams, preparing feedback and actions plans
  • Shared the FA25 TSS video update with the campus community

Continuity Planning for TSS

Remediate reports, applications, and integrations to ensure business continuity during the implementation of the new TSS

  • Remediation of ITS-managed applications and integrations are underway
  • The two student QueryLink Accounts Receivable (AR) reports are in UAT
  • Continued discussions with distributed IT units to support application and departmental report remediation

Financial Support Payments Tool (FSPT)

Improving non-employment graduate student funding processing by building a new tool (FSPT) to replace the current Financial Support Request Tool (FSRT)

In November, we continued to focus on the Stipends Module Release:

  • Data Migration: Finished testing the FSPT with real data to make sure it's ready for launch, and migrated all the January to June 2026 stipends data from the FSRT to the new FSPT. The FSPT Production (live) environment was officially turned on.
  • Training: Created FSPT training guides in Collab and sent information to all users on the  FSPT access requirements. Live training sessions will be held on December 4 and 9. Visit the FSPT webpage for more information on training.
  • Go Live Preparation: Finalizing go live preparation activities for a December 8 launch and developing a plan to support users during the first few weeks after go live.
  • Engagements: Shared a FA25 FSPT video update about the project and met with various groups to answer questions. Continue to hold monthly office hours sessions for anyone who needs support.

CourseLeaf

Introducing the CourseLeaf curriculum system (CIM) to UC San Diego to support and streamline the curriculum process, from planning to implementation to assessment

  • Working on completing final deliverables along with bug fixes
  • Completed design review of Program Approval Form
  • Continued to build the Courseleaf/TSS integration and develop an integration test plan
  • Published an ESR SIS article about DES course approval form go live and shared FA25 CourseLeaf video update with the campus community
  • Provided hypercare support to both main campus and DES through office hours, MS Teams, SNOW form tickets, and email updates

Note: CourseLeaf does not handle course content, which will continue to be managed through the learning management system (LMS), Canvas.

uAchieve Transfer Articulation (uAchieve TA)

Implementing transfers and articulations, predefined and one-off, within the existing uAchieve system

  • Discussions are on-going  about the California Common Course Numbering (CCN) project as some students began transferring in some courses for Fall  Quarter 2025, which will continue in Fall Quarter 2026 and beyond
  • Met with our UC San Diego Articulations Officer to discuss CCN as an effort to plan a process to encode these new courses to all Transfer Articulation Tables for California Community Colleges
  • Shared quarterly FA25 uAchieve TA video update with the campus community
