Financial Support Payments Tool

This project will replace the current Financial Support Request Tool (FSRT) with the new Financial Support Payments Tool (FSPT). The current FSRT is used for graduate student fee remissions, fee payments and retroactive non-employment stipends. FSPT is now used for graduate student non-employment stipends 2026 and beyond.

What's Happening Now

FSPT Stipends is live and fully operational as of December 8, 2025. Our team is currently in the hypercare phase providing specialized support to end users. We are preparing for the next phase of FSPT, which is the Fee Payments and Cost Distribution, set to launch early 2027 following the release of the Triton Student System (TSS).

Timeline & Milestones

**Need to Zoom in? Need additional viewing support? Please access this slide via the following link: FSPT Project Timeline. Descriptive and explanatory text has been added in the speaker notes of each slide.**

This timeline showcases Financial Support Payments Tool (FSPT) Project work from Summer 2025 through Winter 2027. Please note that project work for FSPT began back in 2022.

Development, Testing, and Launch: Development of the tool has been ongoing since 2023. The team is currently working on developing the Stipends Module that is building functionality for non-employment stipend payments. Training for end users is anticipated for the middle of Fall 2025 quarter, with cutover (or transition activities) happening soon after that, and a period of hypercare support to follow. Once training for the Stipends Module release begins, the development team expects to begin configuring the other modules for fee payments and cost distribution. These remaining two modules are dependent on the Triton Student System (TSS) and anticipated to go live after the TSS is live in Summer Quarter 2026.

System Entries: Throughout this timeline, we're managing a strategic transition of system entries from the current Financial Support Request Tool (FSRT) to the FSPT. Stipend entries will migrate from FSRT to FSPT in Fall 2025 with the cutover activities for the Stipends Module. Fee Payments and Fee Remission entries will continue in the FSRT until the go live of the Fee Payments and Cost Distribution Modules later in 2026.

Triton Student System (TSS): The Fee Payments and Cost Distribution modules are dependent on the TSS go-live. Therefore, we have included a very high-level overview of the TSS timeline for reference and comparison. The most important takeaway is that these modules will go live after the cutover (transition) activities for TSS are complete.

Remember, all dates are subject to change as we navigate this complex implementation.
